Expand your organizational awareness and community building capacity with Safer Spaces Professional Development Self-Guided Modules for 2S-LGBTQ+ Inclusion!

An overview of all 9 Self-Guided Modules:

Module 1 – Overview of Safer Spaces Program & Training –

In Module 1, we introduce a high-level overview of the Safer Spaces Professional Development Self-Guided Modules for 2S-LGBTQ+ Inclusion.

Module 2 – Why 2S-LGBTQ+ Inclusion Matters –

In Module 2, you will acquire foundational knowledge and an understanding of basic concepts necessary to engaging meaningfully in this course.

Module 3 – Identities, Language & Pronouns –

In Module 3, you will build upon the foundational knowledge and concepts presented in Module 2 and begin to explore the various identities and communities that form part of the 2S-LGBTQ+ umbrella.

Module 4 – Unique Trans Experiences –

In Module 4, we further explore the diversity of unique trans experiences, as well as some of the medical pathways that folks can choose to affirm and express their gender.

Module 5 – History, Human Rights & Impacts –

In Module 5, we consider the importance of examining history and guide you along a historical timeline that covers some key moments from 1492 - 2021.

Module 6 – Oppression & Microaggressions –

In Module 6, we explore the concepts of oppression and power.

Module 7 – Identifying Barriers –

In Module 7, we begin to identify barriers that may directly impact your workplaces and personal lives.

Module 8 – Strategies Toward Greater Inclusion –

In Module 8, we identify ways in which you can begin to integrate the statistics and information provided thus far and apply your learnings to advocacy and affirming action.

Module 9 – Review & Resources –

In Module 9, we move through a closing and final review of the content explored throughout this course.

 

As you engage with the content presented, you will also be provided opportunities to share your learnings and reflections inside two discussion forums.
